About

Winifred Òdúnóku is a writer who sees writing as an art of self expression. She is of Ìjèbú descent but was born and raised in Jos, a cool city where she had her first exposure to the art of writing. Her works explores love, racism, sexism, and everything that ties humans together. She enjoys writing short stories, creative nonfiction, book reviews, and plays. Her play: “A Journey to the Last” made the long list of the 2020 African Writers Award.

She has her works published in both local and international literary magazines including Isele Magazine, Revista Periferias, The Kalahari Review, Punocracy, Nnöko Stories, Ngiga Review, The Moveee, among others.

Winifred is a graduate of the 2020 SprinNG Writing Fellowship, and a participant of the 2020 SBMEN Creative Writing Workshop for Women. She currently lives and writes in Lagos, Nigeria where she’s working as a full-time writer for a leading writing agency in Africa.
